Marine
The RCID has a track record of providing technical support to various companies in the marine sector. These include shipbuilders and equipment suppliers, naval architects and port operators. We can carry out detailed structural design including 3D modelling from first layout through to final design.
We carry out calculations as required by Classification Societies and National bodies including hand calculations and finite element analysis from the initial design stage through to checking of fabrication drawings. We have recently worked on projects as diverse as full design of a 78m long linkspan bridge, detailed analysis of the stresses on a RAS mast and failure investigation work on Ro-Ro car decks.
The RCID has members of staff with a marine background who are experienced in the particular requirements of the industry.
